Strange Bedfellows of the Day: Disneyland played host last weekend to the 12th annual “Bats Day in the Fun Park” — or Goth Day at Disneyland, to the rest of us. The day’s main event was a group phototaken in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle; the crowd here was jostling for places.

As promised…

Character weekend.

I was thinking of summarizing the weekend but I’d rather say the following…

Be humble. Have courage. Be slow to anger. Surrender to God. Attune your heart with His.

I cannot begin to describe the weekend I experienced but it was a weekend that I really needed. Every talk I heard Him speaking to me.

Talk 1 (humility) “Lace accept what I have given you for I have given you gifts. Do not think low. Do not be false; be true. Take the lowest of the low positions. Always have a servant’s heart.”

Talk 2 (having courage) “I would never place anything in front of you that I know you can’t handle. Don’t let your past, present, and future fears stop you. I love you. Fear is not overcome for its own sake but put aside your fear for love. My love conquers all fear.”

Talk 3/4 (emotions/anger) “I have made you to have emotions but do not exude the wrong ones. Don’t be a slave to your emotions. Always reflect Me and if necessary use words.”

Talk 5 (surrender) oh man. This is when the whole day just came together all at once. “why do you complain about your burdens and the cross I have given you? Do you think I, your creator who put you together piece by piece, bone by bone, inside and out with flesh to hold you together, do not know what you can hold? I know you, my daughter, and I will know you more than you will ever know yourself. So don’t complain about the crosses you bear for I carried the weight of THE world while you carry the weight YOUR world. Know that when it gets heavy I am bearing it with you. Dont ever feel alone.”

Talk 6 (a heart attuned to Christ) “learn My heart and you will learn your own. Matthew 5:48- be perfect as He is perfect.
Luke 6:36- be merciful as He is merciful.
John 15:13- no greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for their friends.
Desire My heart and you will want my ways, my works and my desires.”

May God be praised for being so vivid and clear. “let it be done to me according to your word.”
